Perks of being a Cabin crew

I remember myself as a child, I always say "hello" and "goodbye" with airplanes flying in the sky. I really do love watching them. I even told myself that when I get the chance, I will touch the clouds and feel them and probably put some salt in it so that it will rain! Lol

And yes, it is a dream come true that I am now part of those planes, with normally 2 flight deck and 4 Cabin crew. It is more than a year now since I started to fly with Cebu Pacific Air. You work 30,000 ft above sea level and got an amazing top view from your window. Different destinations, different faces that will make you smile :)

Though I can "literally" say that I've been there, I can't really have the "feeling" of being there - Like the hello and good bye feeling. ~ That's why I am so thankful with the FOC that the company is giving.

FOC or Free of Charge tickets would be one of the perks of being a cabin crew, with unlimited FOC with the domestic destinations in the country and 6 FOC with international destination of Cebu Pacific Air. You can always escape boredom and sadness, just go to your nearby airport, have your HRD code always ready, check in and choose wherever you wanna go - probably the next available flight to Cebu, Coron or Camiguin. So as I write this down, I am imagining to see the midget monkey, whale sharks or calauit island? That is my current agony, where to go? Now that even my family can travel for any 3 destinations, I "wander" where to bring them :)

I guess that is what my future post will be all about :)

I'm not a tourist, I'm a traveller

I remember myself saying "I'm such a tourist" in my last travel in USA - realizing the difference between the two. As defined by WTO, Tourist are people traveling or staying outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leaisure,  business and other purposes. Likewise, traveler as defined by wikipedia as a person who travels, especially to distant lands.

But terms were used in the book differently. Seems like the author prefers the layman term Traveler to describe himself - So do I, I think being a tourist is expensive and being a traveler is not. Tourist got a fixed itenerary and a traveler have none and getting lost is part of the trip.

I used to be a tourist but not anymore, I am now a traveller, probably a back packer - away from my comfort zone. I want to make my travel more sustainable

I realized that I want travel not for pleasure but to learn, not to splurge but to experience something new and to treasure it as part of my being :)

Viajes "Throwback"

Been to several places before, as tourism student I guess I am privilege enough that my parents were obliged to pay my tours almost every semester. Few of my remarkable travels in the country are Subic, Banaue, Baguio, Ilocos, Palawan, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Camiguin, Boracay. Also there is one country that I was able to visit during in my life as a tourism student and - that is United States of America, in search for my self I travel alone (I guess that's a good topic, might make a separate post about it :)

But of course this blog is not about my past travels - but of my present and future travels.

Travel is never a matter of money but of courage

To get some more inspiration for this blog, I consult my favorite author, Paulo Coelho's Aleph. He got amazing stories to tell. His best-seller novel The Alchemist is one relevant story that I will never forget.

Thoughts not written and photos not uploaded are worthless. Same thing goes with travels not recorded and shared. Those are few reasons why I had the thought of doing a blog right now. 
By the way, I am a graduate of BS Tourism Management and a proud advocate of Yabang Pinoy movement, so nonetheless promote the country's tourism in the best way I can. Also, I am presently employed as a cabin crew or flight attendant of Cebu Pacific Air which gave me the benefit of my moola-less-travels. Literally, I've been to several provinces in the country, or better say passed through Cebu Pacific Air destinations. It is then my mission to travel most, if not all amazing destinations that we have in our country - and to discover road less traveled and food less tasted in the country. Indeed, It is more fun in the Philippines!
This blog is also dedicated to give you some tips on how to have a budget friendly travels and for you to experience more of the Philippines for less. So just seat back relax and enjoy my blog :)
